Where to start, where to start…. hey, this blog’s about ME! Read it, and you’ll find out about some of the musings of my inner self!
I’m originally from the Northern U.S. (NY), and since 1996 have been living in the Southern U.S. (NC). I had a somewhat difficult childhood (who doesn’t?), completely went wild, and then matured fairly early, since I moved out of the house and had to support myself from the age of 18. I worked my way through college, and by the time I finished, had enough drive, chutzpah, and experience that it wasn’t necessarily needed, because I had already found success.
At 23, I met my future husband, and at 25 (in 1994), we eloped on a beautiful, sunny day on vacation on Flattop Mountain in Alaska. That moment is engraved in my memory as one of my most cherished. We’re still married, so I guess it wasn’t a bad decision!
I had my children when I was 27 and 29, and then I was done with THAT! Those are other most cherished memories, as well as us working to build a supportive family unit that I didn’t have growing up.
So, we’ve been in our house since 1997, and have accumulated (besides the 2 children) 2 cats, 3 dogs, and sometimes fish. And I complain constantly about not having any peace!!!!!
My favorites:
Color
I like many colors, depending on my mood; but rich, vibrant colors are a must (I really don’t like pastels)Food
Sushi – I could eat it every day!Dessert
Baskin Robbins’ mint chocolate chip ice cream (yes, it MUST be Baskin Robbins’ because they have chocolate flecks in there instead of chips, which can make it too crunchy!)Book
Atlas Shrugged, by Ayn RandMovie
When Harry Met Sally, starring Billy Crystal and Meg RyanSongs
There are so many! Here are some that come to mind:
Unwritten, by Natasha Bedingfield (listen to the words!)
Over the Hills and Far Away, by Led Zeppelin
Hung Up, by Madonna
Miniature Disasters, by KT Tunstall
Almost anything by Billy Joel!
And the list goes on and on…Geography/Places
Beach/ocean — I could live on the water!
Mountains are OK, too…Quotes
“Learn to value yourself, which means: to fight for your happiness.” – Ayn Rand“Death is not the opposite of life. Life has no opposite. The opposite of death is birth. Life is eternal.” – Eckhart Tolle
“Work as if you have no money. Love as if you have never been hurt. Dance like no one is watching. Sing like no one is listening. And live every day as if it were your last.” – Anonymous
Hmmm, what else? I spent 17 years in corporate America, got to the position and paycheck I always wanted, and was miserable. So I started my own company, and left my “day job” to try it out… I’ll let you know how that goes! I love to read, debate, and THINK, which is what so many people just DON’T do in the world today, which is very, very scary to me. I’m also learning (though with difficulty) to trust my instincts, and feel my way through something as well as think my way through it.
The world is amazing, and we barely see it around us, every day. As I get older, I realize more and more that we should celebrate our differences, embrace our eccentricities… that’s what puts the color in the rainbow, and makes life so interesting!
I’ve become very spiritual, though non-denominational — I don’t think we have to compartmentalize and limit ourselves to fit into a box and subscribe only to one published set of beliefs. I do believe that faith is very personal, and that we shouldn’t judge others by theirs, nor condemn them (though I have a really, really hard time with that when people are closed minded about others’ beliefs).
I also believe that we, as a race, have a long way to go on the evoluntionary scale, and that we are just skimming the surface on our actual potential.
Well, that’s it in a nutshell – for now, anyway. I guess you’ll get to know me better as you read my notes. I’ve sort of given you a little insight into me in the Intro blog, so you can read that, too.
Hi Angela,
Haha, I just read your comment from Aquarian Digest blog and jumped right to here. I’m also an Aquarian Sun-Scorpion Moon. I have a Capricornian rising, though
I’ve skimmed through your blog and decided to leave a comment — well, leaving comments is not something I usually do — because whatever I read here speaks out your cool, thoughtful, humanitarian Aquarian side and emotional, passionate Scorpion side so loudly it makes me smile
I like your blog and your writing style a lot — probably because it fits the way my brain works. I also keep two online journals. The one I set public is actually written in Vietnamese, so I can’t really invite you there. The other one is in English most of the time, but it’s also filled with intense emotions from the Scorpion moon. So I set it private
I’m struggling to understand and harmonize my sun and moon (and other planets, too). The conflict between my sun and moon (well, my venus and aspects, too) results in so many problems in dealing with emotions and relationships. I’ve always been curious about how other people with the same luminaries as me work out their love lives. My best friend has the same luminaries and is struggling, too. If you’re interested in astrology and what I’ve said, I’d really appreciate your insights in dealing with emotions and relationships since it seems to me that you’re having a successful marriage, which I admire a lot
